Western Europe
Western Europe, including France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland and parts of Germany, has mild but changeable weather. Rain can happen in any season.
May, June, September and October are often practical for cities, countryside, cycling, walking and road trips.
Southern Europe and the Mediterranean
Southern Europe includes destinations such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Croatia and Mediterranean islands. Summers are often sunny and hot.
May, June, September and October are usually better for sightseeing. July and August are strong for beaches, but they can be crowded and very hot.
Northern Europe and Scandinavia
Northern Europe and Scandinavia have cooler temperatures and strong seasonal daylight differences. Summer brings long days and easier outdoor conditions.
June to August is usually best for Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and northern routes. Winter can be attractive for snow and northern lights, but requires specific planning.
